The Jazz Funeral
took place from Louis Armstrong Park, New Orleans, to the Mississippi River, via the French Quarter, starting at 11 am, on Saturday, February 19th, 2011. After a gathering on the flats and levee at the river, we went across on the ferry to send the raft downstream. But it would not leave. We then turned to a Viking ritual and burned the raft.
